What's Your Plan?

As you begin the fall semester, it's important to have a goal for yourself.  Do you want all A's?  Is your goal to finally pass that remedial Math class?  Maybe you finally want to get experience in the field you plan to pursue.  Now is the time to take advantage of the resources available to you on campus!

If you are in classes that you know will be difficult for you, consider getting a tutor on campus.  Tutorial Services (L-605) provides free tutoring in various subject areas (see listing here) for students throughout the semester.  Visit their office ASAP to sign up for a tutor!  The longer you wait, the more difficult it will be for you to get a tutor.

For those of you still struggling with Math, did you know that Kingsborough has a Math Workshop?  The Math Workshop provides free math tutoring to all students who are currently in a math class.  Visit their website here  for more information.  To transfer to another CUNY school, you need to take a college-level math course and pass it with a C or higher.  So be sure to take advantage of all the assistance available to you.

Looking for experience in the world of work?  Apply for an internship!  The Office of Career Development can assist you with applying for internships.  Available listings are in C-102 or can be found on our database.  Internships give you an insight into your future career.  They also help you to gain experience to build up your resume.  Schedule an appointment with an internship counselor once you know what you want to apply for.

No matter what your goals are this semester, there are numerous resources available to you on campus.  Be sure to utilize them all because they are for YOU!  Visit the Student Development website to learn more.

All the best for the semester!
