Have You Thought About a Career in Nursing?

Nursing is a noble and rewarding profession, offering numerous benefits and opportunities for personal and professional growth. As the demand for healthcare professionals continues to rise, many people are considering a career change to nursing or are exploring nursing as their first career choice.

Becoming a nurse can be a highly fulfilling career choice, especially for those professionals who may enjoy providing care and identifying solutions to meet patient needs. In the healthcare industry, nurses are typically responsible for providing essential patient care across environments like hospitals, outpatient clinics, private practices, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes and patient residences.

 Benefits of Nursing Majors

  • You’re a Helping Hand in People’s Lives: You provide comfort and support to patients and their families as they recover from illness or injury, manage chronic illnesses, and live with disabilities.
  • You’re Always In Demand: you’ll always be in demand with employment opportunities in numerous settings, including hospitals, doctor's offices, clinics, schools, and more. At each facility, there are always going to be sick people who need care, and nurses are the ones who provide that care.
  • Diverse Range of Nursing Specialties and Workplaces: the opportunity to choose from a wide range of specialties, allowing you to follow your particular interests.
  • Be Part of a Collaborative Team: Nurses work collaboratively with each other and other healthcare providers and support staff. This mutually supportive collaboration benefits all nurses, as well as their patients.
  • Geographic Flexibility: Nurses are needed in urban and rural areas, and job opportunities abound. This geographic flexibility allows nurses to choose where to live and work and explore new places through travel nursing opportunities.

New Year, New You: Success Story

Most people in today’s society seem caught up in trying to make money. Many people

resort to different methods in order to make some earnings. Some go about it the legal way and

put in the effort, dedication, hard work, and sacrifices necessary to attain success, while some

have lowered their standards and values in life by engaging in scams, fraud, deceit, theft and

many other illegal ways in order to earn money quickly and have their own self deluded

“success”.

But does your success have to be measured by how much is in your bank account?

Vanity has become glorified as the success of today’s society. People push away family,

friends, and go against their values just to get the money and achieve success, but is money all

that there is to success? Can you say you’re truly successful if you have health problems due to

all the time you neglected proper health care due to striving for success? Of course the hard work

and perseverance through the pain seems admirable. When you do make it, you can call yourself

a strong person, see yourself as a person who doesn’t quit, as you pushed through the health

problems to put in work, but you can’t deny that they’d eventually have their effects that can be

long term. Can you also call yourself successful if you haven’t built anything aside from

monetary wealth?

The family and friends we make along the road to success, are also part of the

things that contribute to having a more successful life. What’s the point of feeling like you’re on

top of the world with the money you have, only for you to have no one around to talk to? No one

to share joy and laughter with, no one who can help you get through stressful moments? These

are reasons why bonds are necessary. When you go with only one goal in mind, i.e; money, you

wouldn’t be able to look around, look within, and try to establish other meaningful things in life.

When you seek proper success, i.e; something that’s meaningful and highly valuable to

you and others around you, there are certain attributes you have to portray and pedestalize.

1. Avoid excess work as much as possible. It may sound ideal that you are trying to

take on a lot of responsibilities, and makes you look like an overachiever, but

burdening yourself with a lot of work can lead to burnouts faster.

2. Patience: looking for quick ways to success often have their downsides, so it’s

best to be patient, putting in sufficient work everyday and hoping for the best.

3. Consistency: to be patient for your success, you need consistency as well. You

can’t have patience without putting any work in, and hope for some sort of

miracle to happen before you become successful. Miracles do happen, but

consistency is key, and maybe somewhere along the lines, a miracle might happen

for you, but you just have to remain consistent with your work.

4. Self belief or confidence: do not be arrogant, or cocky, but do not downplay your

hard work. Just put in the effort, do not doubt yourself, and believe that you can

accomplish the things you’ve set out to do.

5. Take time to pause, look around and appreciate the hard work you’ve done.

Perhaps this is the most essential attribute as you look back on your work to see

how far you’ve come, and gives you the confidence to keep on going. These

moments of looking around you also helps you establish connections. You build

stronger bonds with family and friends, and make sure you aren’t isolating

yourself from people.

Take these tips into consideration, and keep on pushing towards your goals, and

I’ll see you at the top.

Good luck!
