Successful Interview

 

An interview is the most important step towards getting your dream job. It is important because it provides you with a chance to sell yourself and learn more about the job position and the company. It allows both sides to know each other. The employers judge you based on the interview. The purpose of the interview is to find out more about your qualifications to see if you are a good fit for the job. Here are some Do’s and Don’ts for a successful interview:

Do’s
  •  Dress professional (men must wear their suits and ties with dress shoes. Women must wear conservative pants, skirt, and suit with dress shoes.
  • Arrive 10-15 minutes early 
  • Turn All Electronics off 
  • Review your resume and cover letter
  • Find out information about the company 
  • Always be Honest and keep your answers focused 
  • Always ask questions 
  • Sleep well the night before the interview
  • Eat a good breakfast 
  • Bring a portfolio (pen, notepad, multiple copies of resume and cover letter and application) 
  • Know your personal pitch 
  • Maintain a good posture and always make eye contact 
  • Thank the interviewer 
  • Write a Thank-You Letter
Don’ts 
  • Do not wear sneakers, jeans, or heels that are more than 2 inches high
  • Do not wear excessive jewelry, perfume, or makeup
  • Do not chew gum or candy 
  • Do not say you have no weakness 
  • Do not ask about salary or benefits 
  • Do not slouch 
  • Do not pressure the interviewer for a decision

There are  many formats and designs for a resume, but there are essential components that EVERY resume MUST have, no matter what the layout is. HEADER Should contain  your name, full address, phone numbers where you can be reached and a PROFESSIONAL email address.
