Tips for Being Successful at the Job Fair

While personal referrals are still one of the most effective ways to get your foot in the door, a strong impression at a career fair can also be incredibly helpful. Every spring and fall, the Career Development office at Kingsborough hosts a Job & Internship Fair.   Students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to showcase their skills with a face to face meeting with over 30 employers in one room. One may ask, what should I expect at a Job Fair? I will share with you some tips on how you can prepare before, during and after the job fair.   Before the Fair Be Prepared.  – Get a list of the employers from the Career Development Office & Experiential Learning located in C102. Winter is in full affect and for some this could bring about the “bulky-wear blues”, or confusion about how to dress for work. However, blistery days do not mean that dressing for work needs to be a chore. Here are some tips for both men and women on how to dress for the office during the winter.
