LinkedIn Tips

We all have heard about LinkedIn – what it is and how beneficial it is to have a profile – but we also have to learn how to have an EFFICIENT profile.
Here are some quick tips to get you started:
1. COMPLETE your profile and include a professional picture
“According to LinkedIn, a completed profile provides you a 40% greater chance to be successful at networking. A complete profile makes it easier for potential partners, customers, prospects, and prospective employers to find you.”

2. Customize your LinkedIn URL
With a customized URL Google brings you up more quickly in a search. Go to “Profile” page and select “Edit” next to “Public Profile.” Select the URL you want.
3. Add professional recommendations
If possible, as a previous employer to add a recommendation to your profile on LinkedIn. This will make you stand out among competition.

4. Join groups on LinkedIn
Not only will this benefit you and help you stay up to date on industry trends and news, it will also show potential employers that you are active and have a sincere interest in the industry. In addition, you might meet new contacts through groups.
5. Use status updates
But use it only to share relevant and important news related to your professional life.
