SD11 Course Overview

This SD11 course has been one of the most beneficial courses that I have taken at Kingsborough. This class as a whole look towards benefiting students with decision making regardless of their circumstances. Not only has this course taught me how to be a better decision maker, but it has opened up different options for careers that are best suited for me. I have also learned various techniques to improve my interviewing skills. This class has taught me how to handle interview questions that may be expected at any type of interview. One of the greatest resources that was presented throughout this class was access to Career Planning Counselors. Every lesson taught in this course has been generated in order to help all students prosper regardless of the career path they decide to choose.

I handle both misdemeanors and felonies. ·                      Can you tell me about a typical day on the job? There is no such thing as an average day for an attorney, you might spend whole day...

As we get older, things similar to a vision board/creating outlines for things we want to accomplish become essential for our everyday lifestyle, and our long term goals. Today, we’ll be looking at some of the benefits of having a plan/schedule or outline for everyday life, as well as long term goals. 1. When you have a schedule/a to-do list, you efficiently assign a sufficient amount of time required to complete certain tasks, rather than leave most things undone because of distractions or not having a particular guideline to follow. This is most prominent amongst youths as we often get side tracked by social media, or other entertainment factors that hinder us from completing our daily tasks. 2. Motivation: When you wake up everyday, look at the...

You finished filling out the application for the job; listing all of your work experience, answering numerous questions about your work ethic on an online questionnaire, and you even polished up your hand dandy resume! After restless nights of worrying, you finally get a call saying they would love to have you come in for an interview: now what? First, don't panic ! Finding an appropriate outfit can be intimidating, but with the help of Google it is possible. Second, the outfit you should wear is based on what type of position you are going for or what your potential company is. If it's a store like Macy's, for example, it would make sense for you to wear all black since that's the kind of uniform the employees wear.  If you're working in an office setting, then you should go either business casual or professional. When in doubt of what to wear, go with business casual! Here are a few images of what business casual and professional ou...
