" Career Journeys"
I chose nursing as a career of choice to research, using the" Occupational Outlook Handbook". Nursing based on the outlook handbook is growing faster than the average for all occupations listed in the outlook handbook. In fact, the rate of growth is expected to be 26% between 2010-2020 based on the finding of Occupational Outlook -2012. Nursing is just one of the many interesting and diverse careers listed in the outlook hand book, which is a tremendous resource for career information.
The Occupational Outlook Handbook -2012, provides information on career choices, such as training required, license requirements, salaries, advancement and the future outlook for opportunities. It is a valuable research tool to utilize in seeking information about careers .
In general, nurses provide numerous duties including health advice, patient care, support to patients, their families and the community. Nurses have the opportunity to work in many locations and fields including schools, nursing homes, clinics, offices, and hospitals. Specific fields include pediatrics, emergency and ambulatory care.
