Personal Development (Passions and Ambition Pursues)

My name is Christina Edwards. I was born in Jamaica, West Indies. I started KCC in the Fall semester of 2008. I am currently a pre-clinical nursing student at KCC. I enjoy meeting people who are serious about life and have moral values.

For students entering KCC, my first advice would be, try to know the whereabouts on campus. This can prevent students from getting lost and most of all missing out on the first day of class. Because every professor are not the same; to repeat what they did the first day of class. Also this can cause an individual to be late for class and that can be consider as an absent.

Secondly, find the career development office and make an appointment. This will help with the transitional process; to know which major to choose after leaving Liberal Arts, because that is the first level. This will help because there will be a foundation to build from, to a higher level of education.

Thirdly, get familiar with the school’s website. This has helped me to do research for classes. Also, have the librarian update your school ID which will give you access of borrowing books, checking book out for several hours and having the opportunity to access research material in the comfort of your home from the library section.

Meanwhile, try and make friends with others. It helps freshmen to feel at home and both can help each other, with schoolwork. The pressure wouldn't be too much in that new environment because you will have someone there to talk to.

The development of passion for learning can help in a successive transition to college. The different levels may be difficult but it won't be impossible, because learning brings knowledge, which will help in every area of life for a better personal development.

It existed throughout the years, trying to advocate for equality amongst individuals regardless of their race, sex, or religion. Thi helps foster respect and equality in every sector of the society, ensuring that as long as a person is a citizen of the United States, they are allowed to receive the same benefits as others. In the workplace, DEI is very essential as it ensures that people are hired based on the fact that they meet the qualifications of the position they applied for, and not discriminated against by not qualifying them for unknown reasons even if they reach all other qualifications. Below are a few important reasons for DEI in the workplace:  1.
