Engineers

The career of choice that I have researched is a Mechanical Engineer.  Mechanical engineers in 2010 earned an average of $78,160 annually and the employment growth of this career is expected to grow by 9% through 2020.  This field of engineering is also the broadest of all the engineering fields and because of this broadness; mechanical engineers can work alongside many of the other engineering disciplines.  Mechanical engineers have the skills and knowledge to work in engineering services, research and development, manufacturing industries, and the federal government.  People who are interested in becoming a mechanical engineer must obtain a Bachelor’s degree.  Mechanical engineers primarily work in an office setting toiling away on computers designing, problem solving, or redesigning.  Some obstacles that a student might face would be not having strengths in the subject of mathematics and science.  Mechanical engineers utilize these two subjects are frequently in projects.  Mechanical engineers sometimes may work over 60 hours a week toiling away on computer models so this may be an obstacle to overcome if the dedication to sit and work on a model is not there.  Some places to look for advice in the field could be the Physical Sciences department on the KCC campus.  The head of the department is an engineer himself.

To Wear or Not To Wear?: Tips on dressing for success

So, the first step is over. You finished filling out the application for the job; listing all of your work experience, answering numerous questions about your work ethic on an online questionnaire, and you even polished up your hand dandy resume! After restless nights of worrying, you finally get a call saying they would love to have you come in for an interview: now what? First, don't panic ! Finding an appropriate outfit can be intimidating, but with the help of Google it is possible. Second, the outfit you should wear is based on what type of position you are going for or what your potential company is. If it's a store like Macy's, for example, it would make sense for you to wear all black since that's the kind of uniform the employees wear.  If you're working in an office setting, then you should go either business casual or professional. When in doubt of what to wear, go with business casual! Here are a few images of what business casual and professional ou...
