Occupational Outlook Handbook

The career I chose is Navy SEAL. Navy SEALS must at all times be geared to serve their country and to secure it against any and every threat. The responsibilities of a Navy SEAL are given below:
  • Navy SEALs are well kept secrets and the missions that they undertake are generally off the radar.
  • These highly trained individuals can create confusion and fear amongst the ranks of their enemies and this creates a window of opportunity to the various military forces to win a decisive battle
  • You must be a high school graduate, have earned a GED or have met other high school equivalency requirements to enlist in the Navy.
  • The Navy also applies medical, legal and character standards to your application, including traffic offense history, criminal history, citizenship status and more You must be no older than 35 but at least 19 years old depending on the program desired and You must be a U.S. citizen to join the navy
The benefits of joining the navy are as followed:
  • In general, you will be eligible for advancement from E-1 to E-2  after nine months, E-2 to E-3 after another nine months, and from E-3 to E-4 after a subsequent six months’ vacation that you get 30 paid days leave each year. These levels represent different ranks and pay levels.
  • Navy SEALS also get Housing, Meal and Tax Benefits. Many states offer significant tax breaks to Navy personnel. In addition, each service member receives a monthly allowance for housing and food
  • the Navy provides all its service members with superior tax free life insurance coverage. A $250,000 life insurance policy costs only $16 a month. A $400,000 life policy is only $26 a month.
When you start basic training you cannot contact your family or friends. The commanding officers will take every electronic device away from you for two month when you arrive at the basic training. Basic training involves a lot of exercises
