Computer support specialist responsibilities are very simple and not anything too major, they are responsible for taking care of problems in organizations that may have computer or software issues. Many people may know them as help desk technicians. Most technicians go through a 3 months training after being hired, and they may require a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information science, but for some lower level help desk jobs require computer knowledge, postsecondary degree may not be required. Employment is expected to grow 18% for this field of work from 2010 to 2020, mainly because companies will need to upgrade as the years go by and technology gets more complex and complex. The median annual wage that a computer support specialist makes is $46,260. They are many resources that can help you learn more about this career and give you more details such as; computer research association, help desk institute and Association for Computing Machinery. Only obstacles you may face in this career is applicants with a bachelor’s degree and a strong technical background should have the best job opportunities, so it’s a competition for jobs in this area.
