Social Work

A social worker works with people who have been socially excluded or who are experiencing or undergoing crisis. Their role is to provide support to enable service users to help themselves. They maintain professional relationships with service users, acting as guides, advocates or critical friends.

Qualified social work professionals are often supported by social work assistants. They also work closely with other health and social care staff. 

Many social workers with with young people and their families. They may also work with young offenders, drug abusers, homeless, elderly and people with mental health conditions. 

Social workers tasks include conducting interviews with people and their families, offering counseling support to service users and their families. Training, supervision and team meetings, recommending the best decisions for a particular situation or action.
