How to Become a Market Research Analyst

Market research analysts research and gather data for companies. The research that they gather help them establish demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits of customers. By doing so, they know where and to whom the products would be most appealing.

In order to become a market research analyst, one needs at least a bachelor's degree in market research or a related field. Some of these degrees can be in statistics, math, business administration, communications, and so on. Some professions require a masters degree.

The median annual salary was $60,570 in May 2010. The job outlook for this career is projected to grow faster than average, by 41 percent from 2010 to 2020.

One obstacle of getting this career, is the fact that many positions now require a master's degree and those who don't have one face competition.

I can talk to the career counseling center. Also the business department has many professors with Marketing degrees who can help get a better insight on this career.
